Rapier Loom
A rapier loom is a shuttle-less loom that uses one or two rigid or flexible rapiers to carry the weft across the warp. Dominant in cotton-heavy clusters like Erode and Coimbatore.
Rapier looms handle a wider range of yarn types — natural and synthetic — than water jet looms, making them the dominant high-speed loom for cotton, blended, and export-grade fabrics. Speeds typically 300–700 picks per minute.
Cotton weaving has different sizing, beam preparation, and wastage characteristics than synthetic. MobiOffice configurations adapt to rapier-cotton workflows out of the box.
