Dobby
A dobby is a loom mechanism that controls a limited number of harnesses (typically up to 24) for simpler patterned weaving.
Dobby is more affordable and faster than jacquard but cannot handle complex large-repeat designs. Common in shirting, home textile, and mid-complexity dress material.
Dobby and jacquard units have different yarn consumption patterns, downtime profiles, and wastage characteristics. Generic ERPs treat all looms the same; MobiOffice models the loom type so reports respect the actual operational reality.
