Jobwork
Jobwork (or contract weaving) is when a weaving unit weaves customer-supplied yarn into fabric for a per-meter or per-kilogram fee, rather than buying yarn and selling fabric.
Jobwork is dominant in many Indian powerloom clusters — units act as contract weavers for traders or larger mills. Jobwork accounting is genuinely different from owned-stock weaving: customer yarn must be tracked separately from owned yarn, charges calculate on output, and GST treatment is distinct.
